Dr. John Dinesh’s psychiatry clinic is located at heart of Pondicherry city. He provides consultation services for children, teenagers, adults and elderly people with various psychological, emotional and behavioural issues. Dr. John Dinesh runs his Neuropsychiatric clinic at East coast diagnostic centre @ Bussy street. He has an extensive experience in the field of mental health.
He completed his MBBS with Distinction from Rajah Muthiah Medical College, Annamalai University ,Chidambaram and passed his MD psychiatry in first class from Mahatma Gandhi Medical college & Research Institute, Pondicherry university, Puducherry. At present He is working as a Professor and Head of the Department of Psychiatry in a reputed medical college in Puducherry. He has vast teaching experience for UG & PG students.
He is best known for his communication skills and amazing humour sense. He has published papers in indexed national and international journals. He had attended many national, state level and regional psychiatric conferences. He has attended international psychiatric conferences in London (2016), Pittsburgh, Russia (2018). He has been Guiding Post Graduate students and Ph.D. students for the research project, paper publication and thesis work. He Has gone as a PG Examiner to different Universities in south India. He has organized many CME/ workshops and many awareness mental health programmes in and around Puducherry.
He has given numerous mental health awareness talks and interviews in Radio and Television channels. He has chaired sessions in psychiatric conferences and he has been a resource person for invited lectures. He is a Life fellow in Indian psychiatric society, Member of Tamilnadu state branch of Indian Psychiatric society, Member of south zone IPS Association and Life member of Indian Medical Association, Puducherry branch.
His areas of interest are Addiction psychiatry, community psychiatry and suicide prevention. He has given many invited guest lectures in schools and colleges in and around Pondicherry on Stress management, career guidance, dealing with Addiction, Anger management, Personality Development, suicide prevention, Coping Skills training, communication skills training. He has conducted mental health awareness and screening workshops for police personals and Health care workers during times of covid-19 pandemic.
His approach is to listen, understand, diagnose and offer treatment based on the latest and scientifically accepted methods of treatment combined with compassion and understanding for the individuals who seek his help. His treatment plans are well formulated, organized and goal oriented. He admits patients who require inpatient treatment for alcohol deaddiction and all patient with acute exacerbation of mental illness.
